Every morning at La Jaliciense, our ovens awaken with the same recipes passed down through three generations — pan dulce golden and crisp, tortillas steaming soft, and the warmth of Jalisco in every bite.

Our Heritage
Born in the heart of Jalisco and carried to the East Bay, La Jaliciense began as a small family kitchen with one conviction: that the bread of home should never be compromised. What started as weekend gatherings for neighbors has grown into a cornerstone of the Pittsburg community.
Our recipes haven't changed — they were never meant to. The same hands that kneaded dough in Guadalajara still shape every con, cuerno, and cuaudiño you find on our shelves. We don't rush the rise, and we don't shortcut the ingredients. That's the Jalisco way.

Our Offerings
Over two dozen varieties — from the classic con with its sugar-crusted top to the flaky cuerno and the rich cuaudiño. Each piece shaped by hand, glazed to golden, and baked fresh every morning.
Stone-ground corn tortillas and soft flour tortillas, pressed and cooked on the comal throughout the day. They arrive at your table warm, pliable, and unmistakably authentic.
Start your morning with freshly brewed café de olla spiced with cinnamon and piloncillo, or sip thick Mexican hot chocolate whisked to a velvety foam. The perfect companion to any pastry.
Chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, and breakfast quesadillas — hearty, home-style plates made from scratch. Served until noon, every day, to start your morning right.
Savory pies and empanadas filled with seasoned carne, cheese, potato, or rajas — flaky, golden, and always fresh from the fryer or oven. A savory counterpoint to our sweet offerings.
Birthdays, quinceañeras, baptisms — call ahead and we'll prepare something special. Custom cakes, order trays for your event, or a particular pan dulce you've been craving all week.
The Craft
We don't use industrial accelerators or pre-made mixes. Our dough rises slowly, developed by hand, shaped with the muscle memory of decades. The result is bread with character — a crust that sings and a crumb that holds warmth long after it leaves the oven.
Every batch of tortillas is hand-pressed on-site. Every cup of café is brewed to order. We measure success not by how much we sell, but by whether a customer leaves feeling like they visited home.
What Our Neighbors Say
"The con here is exactly like my abuela used to make. I drive past three other bakeries because nothing else comes close. This is the real thing."

"We ordered a custom cake for my daughter's quinceañera and it was stunning — and delicious. The whole family couldn't stop talking about it. Thank you, La Jaliciense."
Roberto S.
Antioch resident
"I stop here every morning before work for a café con leche and a cuerno. The staff knows my order by heart. It's become the best part of my day."
